PreviewsSIRE DU BERLAIS bids to become the second horse in history after Willie Wumpkins to win this contest for a third time. The 10-year-old sets a high standard having filled the runner-up spot in last year's Stayers' Hurdle and, barring him being pulled up at Leopardstown over Christmas, he has run with credit this season, most notably when runner-up on his return to Darasso at Navan. The booking of Rob James, who takes a valuable 7lb off, enhances his claims further. Winter Fog shaped well when second at Leopardstown over Christmas and a first-time hood is likely to bring about further improvement on just his second start for Emmet Mullins. Alaphilippe was behind the selection when the pair qualified for this at Warwick in January and comes into this fresh, while others to note include Sassy Yet Classy, who won at Punchestown in November, Third Wind and 2020 Coral Cup heroine Dame De Compagnie.
