PreviewsSouthfield Stone was impressive in victory over C&D last month on his first start since finishing second in a Grade 2 novice chase at Kempton in February and holds solid credentials here. Paul Nicholls' charge had a wind operation over the summer and it looks to have sparked further improvement, though giving 3lb to Dan Skelton's PROTEKTORAT looks no easy task. A Listed winner at this venue over hurdles, the five-year-old didn't touch a twig on his chasing bow at Carlisle three weeks ago. Traditionally a strong event, the son of Saint Des Saints did jump slightly left in Cumbria, but that seems unlikely to be an issue at this track and he could be allowed an easy lead. Mossy Fen and Paint The Dream both have a bit to find.
